Rest and Relaxation

We don’t take the opportunity to relax nearly as much as we should. When not working our day jobs, there always seems to be plenty of obligations, projects, and housework to fill up the rest of our waking hours. Instead of taking a quiet afternoon to unplug and unwind, we try to fill every spare minute with stuff. Usually it’s stuff that it’s that important.

What would happen if we all took a little time regularly to recharge our batteries? What would happen if we learned to say ”no” to some of the obligations that we neither want to do or get fulfillment from doing? What would happen if we took some of the energy we expend on everyone else and redirect it into doing things we enjoy?

Can you tell I just came back from vacation? For the first time in a long time we decided to get away and relax. We had no iteniary, no plans, no goals. Just a cabin in Galinburg TN and 4 1/2 free days.

Before the holiday craziness started, we wanted to enjoy a few days in the Smokies. We didn’t want this to be an ordinary “stay in a hotel” vacation so we splurged and rented a beautiful little cabin from Galtinburg Falls Resorts. It was worth every nickel.

We had time to stroll through the shops, hike to Abrams falls, and marvel at the beauty of Cades Cove. Getting to see the mountains in it’s fall coat of colors was worth the 4 hour drive. We didn’t get to see nearly as much of the mountains as we would have liked, but what we did see was spectacular. Now I feel refreshed and renewed and ready to tackle the rest of this year.

What makes you feel rejuvenated?
